Scientists: Malaria genome sequencing could lead to more effective remedies | The Petri Dish

According to a release from New York University, two new studies in the journal Nature Genetics provide analyses of the genomes of two common species of the malaria causing-organism Plasmodium. The research shows that genetic variability in the malaria agents P. vivax and P. cynomolgi point to a resiliency against efforts to combat the disease-causing organism, but could also provide clues for new approaches to treatment.
