Country trends -Three additional countries have banned oral artemisinin based monotherapies, a significant step in the fight against artemisinin resistance, and ALMA will reinforce advocacy efforts so that all countries in Africa move to ban these monotherapies before the end of the year.

In 2012, 27, 22 and 34 countries report that they have secured sufficient financing to procure over 80% of their LLIN, RDT and ACT needs, respectively.

Sixteen countries had sustained coverage of LLINs at over 80%. New data from the Countdown to 2015: Maternal, Newborn, and Child Survival show significant progress in Preventing Mother To Child Transmission. Country gap analyses indicate that there remain outstanding gaps of approximately US$3.2 billion to sustain universal coverage of LLINs, ACTs and RDTs to 2015.
